Entertainment and Leisure Noise Assessment

As of 6th April 2008, the Control of Noise at Work Regulations became applicable to the music and entertainment industries.

This now means that all staff who work in bars, restaurants, nightclubs or other venues where music, dance or dramatic performance occur are now covered by the Regulations.

Source of noise include:

  • Amplified music (recorded or live), Public address systems, Television/video;
  • Externally mounted plant and equipment, e.g. chiller units, air conditioning units, extraction ventilation, beer gardens and children's play areas.
  • Cleaning and bottling out.
  • Deliveries and taxis.
  • Customers.

For more information about an Environmental Noise Assessment, please complete our contact form and one of our consultants will be in touch.

Noise can cause considerable disturbance and annoyance to people in nearby premises and local residents, especially during Summer months.

Bradley Environmental can assist owners of such venues in complying with their duties under these regulations, and advise on best practices in how this is achieved.

Bradley Environmental can also undertake an Occupational Noise Assessment and an Environmental Noise Assessment.
