Exposure to hazardous substances can have detrimental effects on employee health and may result in contracting various diseases.
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 places a duty on to employers to undertake assessments to evaluate the risks to health when using hazardous substances in the workplace.
The results of Workplace Exposure Monitoring will highlight exposure to hazardous substances and assess the effectiveness of existing control measures, such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Results are then evaluated against prescribed Workplace Exposure Limits and can be interpreted to determine any improvements and supplementary control measures.
