Bradley Environmental offer professional Water and Legionella Risk Assessments and Testing to help compliance with current UK regulations including Health & Safety at Work Act and the COSHH regulations.

ALL employers, building owners and landlords have a duty of care and a legal obligation to undertake a Water and Legionella Risk Assessment on all workplace buildings where there is a foreseeable risk of exposure to Legionella bacteria. This includes hotels, gyms, leisure clubs, dental surgeries, GP surgeries, offices, warehouses and large process systems in food factories and foundries etc. This also applies to those who provide residential accommodation or who are responsible for the water system(s) in their premises.

You are legally required to use a competent person to carry out regular water system risk assessments on workplace buildings. When did you last do one? Call 0121 5500224 or click here to contact us today

Bradley Environmental can carry out legionella risk assessments in water systems from any of our 4 offices including Birmingham, Wakefield, Blackpool and St Asaph (North Wales).

It is a requirement under Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH) to assess the risk from biological hazards which include the deadly Legionella bacteria.

This requirement is further enforced by HSE ACoP L8: The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems.

In a Legionnella risk assessment the following will be undertaken:

  • Condition report on cold water storage tanks, potable water systems, calorifiers and hot water cylinders
  • Schematic diagrams of potable water systems showing all inlets and outlets, identifying any dead legs
  • Schedule of water outlets and temperature profiles
  • Legionella risk assessment carried out in accordance with Approved Code of Practice and Guidance L8
  • Comprehensive recommendations report and unlimited technical advice and assistance thereafter
  • Water samples and analysis of the cold water storage tanks are recommended.
