We are excited to announce that as a result of our continued success delivering occupational hygiene services, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic trainee to join our Technical Team in Halesowen.

Roles and Responsibilities

The role will initially focus on shadowing qualified and experienced occupational hygienists whilst they carry out site works, to gain experience and understanding, including a strong focus on report writing. It is estimated that the full training period would be approximately 6 months, depending on the aptitude of the candidate and significant theory based learning would also be required to compliment the site experience gained.

Full training will be provided, including the opportunity to gain industry-specific formal qualifications, once an initial three month training period has been completed. 

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have some degree of scientific background academically and at least  once science ‘A’ Level. A science based degree would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Have some relevant or transferable industry experience (preferable, but not essential).
  • Be able to adopt a flexible approach to their working hours in that the position will not be a typical 9 to 5. Early starts, late finishes and occasional weekend working will be required to service our clients. Whilst most of our work is in the Midlands, we have several national contracts and the ideal candidate will understand that travelling is an essential part of the role.
  • Be motivated and show initiative, given that to fully take advantage of this opportunity, some degree of studying and personal development will be expected outside of normal working hours.
  • Have a strong customer focussed work ethic, an exemplary professional attitude and be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills.
  • Hold a full UK driving license. Although no vehicle will be offered during the initial training period, once competency is achieved for either discipline, a company vehicle will be provided.  
  • Have excellent oral communication skills and be capable of writing clear, well presented and accurate reports.
  • Be willing to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure, the cost of which will reimbursed by the company.
