We have a vacancy for qualified an Asbestos Consultant based in the South East.

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking site audits on both internal staff of all levels, along with external licensed asbestos removal contractors and other surveying organisations during their respective day to day work activities.

In addition the succesful candidate will be conducting management, refurbishment and demolition surveys for a range of clients and be responsible for airborne fibre sampling, fibre counting, undertaking four stage clearance inspection, clearance air testing and reassurance, background, leak and personal monitoring. The role is field based and will cover the south east, however the successful candidate will regularly attend, and be supported by our Halesowen office in the West Midlands.

Person Specification

The candidate will hold as a minimum BOHS P402 (or equivalent) and BOHS P403 and P404 (or equivalent). BOHS P405, W504 (or equivalent) and working towards the CoCA is desirable.

The successful candidate must be able to show experience of the following:

•    Demonstrate industry experience in asbestos surveying and air monitoring
•    An excellent understanding of Health and Safety procedures in relation to asbestos
•    Excellent client liaison skills and/ or the ability to manage contractors
•    Accurate report writing skills including a proven track record in auditing
•    Ability to work within the team and under own initiative
•    Project management or remediation experience
•    Flexible approach to working hours
•    Full driving licence
•    IT literate (experience of TEAMs would be an advantage but not essential as full training shall be given).

What We Can Offer You

Salary is negotiable between £28,000.00 and £32,500.00 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications. In addition, benefits include a company vehicle, company paid healthcare (long service award applies), company pension (into which the company contributes 3% of qualifying earnings), 22 days holiday (long service award applies) plus 8 statutory bank holidays.

The successful candidate(s) will also be given the opportunity to undertake further BOHS (or equivalent) qualifications and the opportunity to develop within the role and within the company.
