Due to an increased workload and our company’s ongoing success with regard to water hygiene services, we are looking for an enthusiastic, qualified and experienced individual to strengthen our team. We expect the role to be primarily office based, offering technical support and day to day assistance to a team of site consultants. The role will also strongly focus on ensuring the quality of the work we produce is first class, both in terms of report authorisation and compliance with the standards laid out by the Legionella Control Association (LCA).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To ensure we provide an excellent level of service to our customers;
  • To undertake all quality control requirements required by the LCA, to maintain our Registration status, including audits, calibration of equipment and training file maintenance;
  • To quality check and authorise the issue of Legionella risk assessments, management plans and logbooks;
  • Work alongside the Technical Manager to ensure that all incoming work is booked into the diary accurately and that clear instructions are communicated to the site team, on a daily basis;
  • To actively manage daily workloads ensuring that that sufficient time is given for the site team to write up reports, in a timely manner, in line with the customer’s delievery expectations;
  • Day to day operational management of the Technical Support Officer (TSO), who’s role it is to respond to water hygiene enquiries promptly, with clear and accurate quotations, for both new and existing clients;
  • To work with the TSO and actively follow up on all quotations to drive their uptake, or to assess the reason why a customer chose not to move forward with us;
  • To have significant input with respect to the on-going improvement of our report templates, logbooks and management plans;
  • To work closely with the Sales and Marketing team to promote all water hygiene related services and identify new opportunities;
  • To identify and upsell both management and remedial work opportunities highlighted by our risk assessors during their site works;
  • To work closely with the Technical Manager to assist with the recruitment and selection of new staff, as well as the ongoing training of existing staff;
  • In Partnership with the Technical Manager, maintain adequate stocks of equipment and consumables for the team;

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate suitable knowledge, experience and qualifications to enable them to fulfil the above duties, in addition to the following:

  • Must possess one of the industry recognised qualifications
  • Hold a full UK driving license;
  • Be able to demonstrate a good standard of general education;
  • Have good I.T. skills and be able to use all common commercial software packages;
  • Be enthusiastic and ambitious with a keen eye for detail;
  • A strong desire to develop themselves and others in the team;
  • A good working knowledge of Legionella control, in accordance with ACOP L8 & HSG274;
  • Have the ability to learn, interpret and research new information, legislation and technical guidance and introduce it into the services offered by the Water Hygiene Department;

  • Although initially based in the Halesowen office, once the successful candidate is comfortable within the role it is anticipated the role can be undertaken with a mix of office and home working, to suit both the candidate and the needs of the business.

  • 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
  • 22 days holiday, plus 8 statutory bank holidays per annum (long service award applies at 3 and 5 years);
