Bradley Environmental Consultants will pay a joining fee of £2,000 to qualified candidates who apply directly, are offered a position and carry out 6 months of continuous service. The first payment of £1,000 will be made to the candidate after 3 months,  followed by a second £1,000 payment after 6 months (pro-rata for part time staff).

Eligibility Criteria

Qualified candidates are defined as those that hold:

  • BOHS Proficiency Certificates or industry equivalent for Asbestos roles.
  • BOHS Proficiency certificates or industry equivalent for Occupational Hygiene roles.
  • BOHS Proficiency Certificates or City and Guilds Qualifications for Legionella Risk Assessment (or industry equivalents).
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma for Health and Safety Consultants (or industry equivalents).
  • Trainers who can demonstrate a minimum of 2 years training experience with a UKATA or BOHS certified organisation.

We have a vacancy for a qualified Health, Safety and Environmental Consultant to work as part of our Safety Health and Environmental team based in our Halesowen office in the West Midlands. Ideally the role will be full time (40 hours) but we may also consider a reduced working week.

The successful candidate will ideally be able to provide a range of health and safety consultancy services and training to our membership clients and to a range of other clients who request these services as and when required.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and ambitious with the desire to develop themselves and the SHE department, including taking an active role in the marketing of the SHE teams services to new clients and working with existing clients to develop the partnership relationships we have with our clients.

The candidate will hold as a minimum the NEBOSH General Certificate, with previous consultancy experience and the ability to complete some or all of the following:

  • Ensuring compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Legislation.
  • Conducting risk assessments throughout the business in line with identified hazards
  • Delivering of a range of health and safety training courses, including IOSH working safely.
  • Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments.
  • Ability to undertake CoSHH Assessments.
  • Achieving SSIP applications for clients
  • Ability to undertake Legionella Risk Assessments.
  • Conducting occupational noise assessments in a variety of work places.

In addition, the candidate will hold a full driving licence, be competent in the use of word, excel and other commonly used software packages. Have the ability to work alone and as part of a team and have the ability to “learn and research” new information as required when introduced to a new client who may operate in an industry which is new to the candidate.

Salary is negotiable between £19,987 and £25,000 pa (or pro-rata) dependent upon experience, qualifications and hours worked. A vacancy has arisen for a Deputy Technical Manager at our St Asaph office.

Reporting to the Commercial Director and supported by our head office in the West Midlands, the role involves the operational management of a small team of asbestos site analysts, surveyors, laboratory analysts and administrators. In addition, the role requires proactive development of the existing team in including auditing, training and performance management.

Commercial acumen is a must along with the drive and ambition to grow sales in line with set targets. The role also requires a consultant who can develop relationships with existing and new clients, ensure the maintenance of UKAS and ISO standards and manage projects and clients.

Previous experience of asbestos consultancy within a UKAS accredited company, project management and site work is essential along with the appropriate BOHS “P” certificates for site work (P402, P403 and P404) or equivalent.

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will hold W504/S301 or will go on to obtain the qualifications and will be developed to achieve COCA status.

The successful candidate should have people management experience and first rate training skills. A good working knowledge of TEAMs (or similar), a good understanding of Health and Safety legislation and experience of a range of Microsoft packages is also essential, as is a full driving licence.

The role involves the supervision of asbestos removal projects and undertaking air monitoring.

The successful candidate will be responsible for airborne fibre sampling, fibre counting, undertaking four stage clearance inspection, and clearance air testing and reassurance, background, leak and personal monitoring.
