Specialist in Lower-Risk Asbestos Removal
We specialise in the safe removal of non-licensed asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) that pose minimal risk.
Non-licensed asbestos removal involves the handling and removal of low risk asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) that are in good condition and pose a low risk of releasing harmful asbestos fibres when disturbed. This can include certain cement products such as roofing sheets, textured coatings (Artex), vinyl floor tiles and other low-risk materials found in homes and businesses. Although these materials are less dangerous than higher-risk asbestos, they must still be removed by qualified professionals to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.
Reinforced Plastics
Asbestos was added to moldable synthetic plastic to enhance strength and heat resistance. Asbestos-containing plastic products were utilised in cars, planes, and electrical components, including well-known brands such as Bakelite and Noramite.
Asbestos Cement Products (roofing sheets, cladding, and pipes)
Asbestos cement is a material which is predominantly a mixture of cement and chrysotile and which, when in a dry state, absorbs less than 30% water by weight. 40% of UK imported asbestos was used in asbestos cement.
Textured Coatings (Artex)
These were used to produce decorative finishes on ceilings and walls. In the past, they have had various trade names such as ‘Artex’. You do not need a licence to work on these materials, but work with any type of asbestos should only be considered following a suitable risk assessment and adequate asbestos training.
Vinyl/Thermoplastic Floor Tiles
Floor tiles that contain asbestos can also have asbestos paper backing, or be fixed with asbestos containing mastic.
Bitumen Roofing and Adhesives
Asbestos bitumen products include roofing felts and shingles, semi-rigid asbestos bitumen roofing, gutter linings and flashings, and bitumen damp-proof courses (DPC). They also encompass asbestos/bitumen coatings on metals, such as car body underseals, as well as bitumen mastics and adhesives used for floor tiles and wall coverings.
Compressed Asbestos Fibre Gaskets
Asbestos-based gaskets created tight seals between pipes and machinery in engines and heavy industry. Manufacturers used these gaskets until increased public awareness of asbestos-related diseases prompted them to find safer substitutes for the toxic mineral.

Our Process
Step 1: Asbestos Survey, Testing and Assessment
We begin by conducting a detailed asbestos survey of your property to identify potential asbestos containing materials. Our in-house UKAS accredited asbestos testing laboratory (No. 1155) will analyse the samples and provide results quickly. This assessment helps us determine whether the materials qualify for non-licensed removal and the safest way to proceed.
Step 2: Safe Removal and Containment
Our trained non-licensed asbestos removal operatives use specialised methods to remove non-licensed asbestos materials safely. We ensure that the asbestos fibres are contained, and we work efficiently to complete the removal with minimal disruption.
Step 3: Area Decontamination and Cleaning
Once the removal process is complete, we thoroughly decontaminate the area to eliminate any residual asbestos fibres. Our cleaning procedures meet the highest safety standards, ensuring that the area is safe for reoccupation.
Step 4: Asbestos Waste Disposal
All asbestos waste is double bagged, sealed, and disposed of in licensed facilities. We provide documentation to certify that asbestos removal and disposal were conducted in full compliance with current regulations.
The Importance of Professional Non-Licensed Asbestos Removal
Even low-risk asbestos materials can be dangerous if mishandled. Hiring a professional service ensures that asbestos is removed without risk to your health or the environment. Attempting to remove asbestos on your own can lead to the release of hazardous fibres, posing serious health risks, including lung diseases and mesothelioma.
