The successful candidate will be extremely motivated to develop their skills/knowledge and preferably have some construction site or trade experience. The candidate will have an excellent awareness of health and safety requirements and the ability to write accurate reports. This role also requires a commitment to study in order understand the related legislative and quality requirements, as well as gaining practical skills, in order to pass a series of written and practical exams. Some manual handling, working at height and confined space may be required (full training will be given).

The role will initially involve assisting Asbestos Surveyors on site visits to domestic, commercial and industrial properties. Should the successful candidate show aptitude he/she may then be developed and afforded the opportunity of working towards gaining nationally recognised qualifications to become an Asbestos Consultant.

 At a later date the successful candidate may also be trained to carry out air monitoring throughout projects and inspecting areas to ensure work has been carried out in accordance with current standards and regulations.

Some travel to other locations will be required due to national contracts, as well as a flexible approach to working hours, as occasional evening and weekend work may also be required. All work conducted is carried out in a safe manner and full training/supervision will be given.

The contracted hours of work are 40 per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4.30pm. The starting salary for the role is £16,000 per annum (this will be increased once qualified). Other benefits include overtime paid £12.50 per hour and shift enhancements, company paid health and well-being plan, pension and 22 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays.

A company vehicle will be made available to the successful candidate who shows potential and progression and the salary will be increased as qualifications are gained.

The successful applicant must also possess the following attributes:

•  A full UK driving licence

•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•  Possess a minimum 5 GCSES including Maths and English (A levels or equivalent a relevant degree level/HNDqualification would be an advantage)

•  Excellent interpersonal skill including first rate customer service

•  The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team

•  Be willing to provide an Enhanced CRB disclosure (cost will be met by Bradley Environmental)

•  CSCS Card (would be an advantage)
