One of our Directors Chaz had organised a "Brave The Shave" to raise some money for Macmillan cancer support.
This is his story......
"I am raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support with my
colleagues Luke Pountney and Brent Walker to help give something back for the great work Macmillan carry out helping the lives of everyone living with cancer.
When a family member or close friend is diagnosed with cancer, your world is instantly turned upside down and when I lost my dad to cancer just over a year ago, Macmillan were brilliant for our family and helped us through one of the hardest times of our lives. Sadly, all too often cancer seems to touch most of our lives in some way, whether it be family or friends.
Brent, Luke and I thought we would try and raise some money for Macmillan and ‘Brave the Shave!’ to stand proudly alongside men, women, children and their families who are suffering from this horrible disease.

Recently we received a very lovely letter from a family in Manchester who were so moved by one of our staff's actions that they wanted to express their gratitude, one of our staff members went above and beyond to ensure the family were reunited with their possessions.
Bradley Environmental were asked to perform a survey at a property in Manchester, (The home of the family’s parents for 63 years until their father died, last September).
The letter reads...
"We had cleared the house totally, or so we had thought. During that process we had been unable to find a gold watch given to my father and engraved by ICI to commemorate his 30 years' service to the company. We had to assume that it had somehow been lost but because it was of great sentimental value, we were saddened by this as my mother had enjoyed wearing it and was rarely seen without it. My father and mother had both expressed their wish that I should be given it and pass it on in due course to our daughters.
Last night I received a phone call from our minister's wife, informing me that Mark, an employee of Bradley Environmental had found this watch whilst doing work in my parents' former home. My father, ever cautious, had hidden it on top of a door frame in its original box.
Mark had not only retrieved the watch for safe keeping, with the knowledge of his colleagues, but had then researched the family name which was engraved on the watch on the Internet, until he had found a connection via some research my sister-in-law had undertaken regarding the First World War. He had then taken the trouble to contact our minister at church and through that lengthy process had found me. He arranged finally for his wife to send the watch to me within twenty four hours.
We are all delighted that such a sentimental item from our family history has been found. We want to record our gratitude to Mark for his honesty, care and understanding and for the trouble he has taken to reunite this item with its owners. Such integrity in an employee of your firm is praiseworthy. We feel that Bradley Environmental Consultants is fortunate to have Mark as a trainee"

After months of hard work, we are delighted to officially announce the launch of our new website on the 8th August 2016.
Our goal with this new website is to provide our visitors with a much improved user experience including easier to use navigation menus, smart phone and tablet friendly and a fresh new modern layout.
We have developed a new pay online function for our public training courses to make the course booking process easier and faster.

Six very brave staff from our Wakefield office have just completed and survived a Tandem Sky Dive to raise awareness for various different lung conditions, including Mesothelioma and Asbestosis which are caused by prolonged exposure to Asbestos Fibres.
Our chosen charity for this death defying stunt is The British Lung Foundation.
All six were securely harnessed to experienced instructors before take-off and climbed to around 10,000ft. When the green exit light came on it was time to take a couple of deep breaths and then JUMP!!
Once in freefall, they all accelerated to speeds in excess of 120mph and covered 5,000ft in approximately 30 seconds before the instructors opened the main parachute.
Once the parachutes opened each person had a few minutes of floating back to earth before landing with a gentle OUCH!!
Those taking part included Emily Dykes, Kevin Towers, Matt Bulman, Karen Steer, Jane Flegg, and Dave Maddison.
Well done to you all!!

A long-awaited report addressing asbestos in schools is leaving millions of children and staff at risk, a Labour MP says.
In its delayed review, finally publishedlast week, the Department for Education made five key pledges including creating clearer guidance on managing asbestos in schools and ensuring all duty holders were aware of their responsibilities in relation to the killer dust
He told Schools Week: “The review is a very important step forward that provides a firm foundation on which to build future policy.
“However, it does not propose the long-term strategy that will implement a policy to eradicate asbestos from our schools.”
Schools minister David Laws, said the government would enhance scrutiny on duty holders for managing asbestos. Schools would have to provide regular reports to the Education Funding Agency about their management of asbestos – which could be made public.
He also said that plans were afoot to improve the evidence base of the risk posed by asbestos in schools.
The report highlighted a lack of evidence, stating “we can estimate a majority of schools in England contain some asbestos, although the exact amount is unknown”.
Freedom of information figures from local authorities, reported by the BBC earlier this month, show there is asbestos in 86 per cent of schools in the UK.
Mr Sheridan, speaking at a Commons debate, added: “There needs to be a proper assessment across the UK of the level and condition of asbestos in the nation’s schools so that plans can be drawn up to remove the worst of it as it continues to deteriorate.
“Simply leaving it in place until a school is refurbished will put millions of school kids and other workers at risk.
“The report should be seen not as the end of the line, but simply as the launching pad for a proper, comprehensive policy aimed at ridding our schools of this killer dust once and for all.”
Latest figures showed 2,535 people died from mesothelioma in the UK in 2012 – more than died on the roads.
“The government is absolutely committed to ensuring that those who are responsible for school buildings are equipped with the resources, information, guidance and support that they need to do their jobs effectively.”
The government proposals are now out for consultation.

A quarter of construction sites recently inspected in Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk failed health and safety checks, it has been revealed.
Health and Safety Executive (HSE) inspectors visited the counties as part of a clampdown to reduce death, injury and ill health.
They said 17 of the 71 sites visited were found not to meet the minimum legal standards for health and safety.
Poorly erected scaffolding and exposure to dust were raised as concerns.
Eighteen enforcement notices were issued as a result, HSE said.
They included six prohibition notices, which stopped some work activities immediately, and 12 improvement notices, which required improvements to be made to working practices.
The inspectors made unannounced visits to sites where refurbishment or repair work was taking place.
'Poor standards'
They looked to ensure companies were managing high-risk activity, such as working at height, and checked whether personal protective equipment, such as head protection, was being used appropriately.
Dominic Elliss, HSE principal inspector for construction in the East of England, said: "It's good news that the majority of the construction sites we visited were obeying the law, but sadly some sites are letting down the rest of the industry.
"Poorly erected scaffolding, exposure to dangerous types of dust, and inadequate washing facilities were among the poor standards we found on some sites.
"I hope by carrying out these spot checks we will help to raise awareness of the dangers and reduce the number of construction workers being killed or seriously injured at work."
During 2011/12, 19 workers were killed while working in construction across the East of England and a further 2,141 were seriously injured, HSE said. This article can be found on the bbc website.
