Asbestos Surveys

At Bradley Environmental, all of our asbestos surveys are conducted in line with HSE guidance HSG264. We hold UKAS Accreditation under ISO 17020 for conducting Management, Refurbishment and Demolition surveys. Previously, these were referred to as Types 1, 2 and 3.

Your Survey Report

All of our surveys contain the following sections:

  • Introduction and scope of works
  • Summary of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs)
  • Item register
  • Annotated building plans
  • Sample analysis results

Undertaking an asbestos survey is a key stage in managing your asbestos

For more information about asbestos surveys, please complete our contact form and one of our consultants will be in touch.

The main purpose of the survey is to identify the location, type, condition and extent of any ACMs present. The survey should be in accordance with HSE guidance note HSG264 which describes two types:

  • Management Survey – Previously known as a Type 2. Its purpose is to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspect ACMs in the building.
  • Refurbishment/Demolition Survey – This has replaced the Type 3 asbestos survey. Prior to refurbishment or demolition work being carried out, one of these surveys must be completed.
  • Reinspection Surveys and Management Plans - Once ACMs have been identified, it is the dutyholder's responsibility to inpsect these items (at least annually) and create a Management Plan.

The type of asbestos survey needed will be dependent on you and your property’s specific requirements. This will be established during the survey planning phase in conjunction with one of our surveyors. Our technical department are more than happy to answer any questions regarding surveys that you may have.

Our Surveyors

All of our surveyors hold the P402 certificate or the RSPH Level 3. Each have a minimum of 2 years surveying experience and have been strictly audited in line with in-house quality systems. Many of our asbestos consultants also hold the more advanced S301 award.
