- Types, Uses, and Risks of Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACMs)
- Health Hazards and Relevant Legislation
- Site Set-Up, Maintenance, and Dismantling (Practical)
- Controlled Stripping Techniques (Practical)
- Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) (Practical)
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Practical)
- Transit Procedures & Decontamination (Practical, including full shower procedure)
- Cleaning & Clearance Air Testing
- Plant and Equipment (with demonstrations)
- Waste Management & Disposal
- Emergency Procedures, Fault-Finding & Non-Asbestos Hazards
- Roles, Responsibilities, Site Inspections & Record-Keeping
- Risk Assessments, Plans of Work, Management Systems & Monitoring
Candidates must demonstrate their understanding through modular tests, achieving a minimum overall pass mark of 80%. Full participation in preliminary and full decontamination procedures, including showering in a decontamination unit, is mandatory. Failure to complete these practical elements will result in a course fail.
