Meet Matt

Matt started in the asbestos industry in 2003 as a Trainee Consultant having spent the early part of his working life as a Technician and Health and Safety Representative.

Matt went on to gain his BOHS P402-P404 in 2006 and was given an opportunity to work in social housing where he started as an Asbestos Technical Officer and progressed to become an Asset Systems Surveyor. After three years in social housing, Matt returned to the Asbestos Consultancy field and from 2009 he operated as Senior Consultant and Technical Manager, Senior Trainer and finally in September 2015 he advanced to the role of Training Manager at Bradley’s. Matt also sat on the UKATA Board of Directors from 2018 – 2022.

Meet Xavier

Xavier has been in the asbestos industry for over 20 years, starting out in 1994 as an analyst and surveyor for a small independent company.

After a year, Xavier gained the S301 qualification and other hazardous material qualifications after which he was promoted to Technical and Quality Manager. Xavier then went on to be an Asbestos Project Manager at the BBC in London, where he was responsible for all tendering processes and organisation of the large amount of analysts and surveyors. While at the BBC, Xavier gained further qualifications within the Hazardous Materials industry and was promoted to Senior Project Manager. Xavier has worked for many Blue Chip companies over the years and joined Bradley’s as a trainer in April 2018.

Meet Clare

Clare started her career in the asbestos industry within the Bradley Environmental asbestos laboratory in 2001. In the following 14 years she went on to gain the BOHS P401, P402 and P405 and progressed from Asbestos Surveyor / Senior Consultant to Training Department Manager delivering UKATA, BOHS and IOSH courses.

In 2015 Clare moved to Local Authority as Asbestos Quality Manager, maintaining their UKAS accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025. During her time at the council Clare managed a team of Non-Licensed Asbestos Removal Operatives / Samplers and was also directly responsible for overseeing the managing of the Authority’s asbestos under Regulation 4 of CAR 2012.

During 2015 Clare also became an Independent Auditor and Verifier for UKATA for Asbestos Awareness, Non-licensed and Licensed training. She maintained this role alongside and throughout her years with Local Authority until 2023.

Clare returned to Bradley Environmental in 2023 as National Training Manager and continues with the development of the department from their training centre in Stourbridge.

Meet Phil

Phil started his asbestos career in 2004 becoming a BOHS P402 qualified asbestos surveyor on a wide variety of sites. He quickly decided that this was the industry he would like to remain in and followed up with the P405. Working with his first analytical company he pursued his P401, P403 & P404 to become a field and lab analyst. Phil has also spent time working onsite in unsociable hours as an emergency response analyst for Highways, British Nuclear Fuels and British Rail.

Always wanting to expand his knowledge and abilities Phil completed the NEBOSH General Certificate in H&S, Environmental Management and Fire Risk Safety along with Legionella BOHS P900 & P901.

Phil joined Bradley Environmental in 2023 and is eager to share a wealth of knowledge and experience gained in the asbestos industry and looks forward to meeting new delegates at Spitfire House in the Midlands or training venues near you.

Meet Richard

Richard has been in the industry for 7 years joining Bradley’s in 2017 as a trainee surveyor.

Spending 12 years in social housing, initially working within finance, Richard progressed to a new position within the technical department gaining his BOHS P402 & P405 certificates, carrying out the roles of stock condition surveyor, Clark of works and assisting in the asbestos management of the housing stock.

After joining Bradley’s in 2017 as a trainee surveyor Richard has gained a tremendous amount of experience surveying a wide variety of domestic and commercial properties progressing to Lead Asbestos Surveyor and Asbestos consultant roles within the company. Initially providing training as a joint role to on-site asbestos survey’s Richard officially joined the training department recently in July 2024 with a keen sense to share his knowledge and first-hand experience with delegates.

Meet Jo

Jo started in the asbestos industry in 2005, working as Business Development Executive. Going out to meet potential new clients across the UK. This was just as tendering for works was becoming more prevalent, which then became the focus to win works for the business. Jo gained BOHS P405 in 2007.

In 2012, Jo was given the opportunity to bring UKATA Training into the Company where she worked. Spending many years as the sole trainer for UKATA CAT A, Asbestos Awareness for their clients, whilst continuing her tendering role.

Starting with Bradley Environmental has given Jo the opportunity for personal development and to continue with tendering to help grow the business and to once again become a UKATA Trainer, completing Level 3 Teacher Training and BOHS P402.
