What can we do to help?
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 place a duty on employers to undertake assessments to evaluate the risks to health when using hazardous substances in the workplace.
Workplace exposure monitoring aims to recognise, evaluate and minimise the risk of operative ill health from hazardous substances in the workplace.
The results of workplace exposure monitoring will highlight exposure to hazardous substances and assess the effectiveness of existing control measures, such as Personal Protective Equipment. The results are evaluated against Workplace Exposure Limits and can be interpreted to determine any improvements and supplementary control measures.
All employers are required to assess the risks to its employee’s health and safety created by exposure to noise in the workplace.
One way of doing this is to undertake Occupational Noise Monitoring. The results of this will aid the company in formulating its action plan to reduce exposures to workplace noise, as required by regulations. These regulations state that companies are required to monitor noise levels in the workplace, and to take steps to prevent or reduce the exposure to noise risks.
