What are your legal duties?

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 you must carry out and regularly review a fire risk assessment of the premises.

The main requirements are to:

  • Carry out an assessment considering all occupants including visitors;
  • Identify significant findings and the details of anyone who may be at risk in the event of a fire;
  • Provide and maintain fire precautions;
  • Provide information, instruction and training to anyone who may be at risk in the event of a fire;
  • Review your risk assessment at least annually.
