We are pleased to announce that from the 15th of June 2020 we will be reopening our Covid-19 secure training centre in Birmingham for public training courses. Our other training centres in Wakefield, Wrexham, Preston and Livingston will also reopen in the coming weeks.
From the 8th June 2020 we will be offering private/onsite training courses which can be held at a client's own premises, subject to meeting our Covid-19 Delegate Safeguarding Policy.
We can also announce a new virtual/remote training option on some of our popular UKATA Asbestos Training Courses which will be available from 1st July 2020.

Public/Scheduled Training
As of the 15th of June we will be offering all of our UKATA Asbestos Training Courses from our Birmingham training centre. Our other training centres in Wakefield, Wrexham, Preston and Livingston will also reopen in the coming weeks. Our public training centre classrooms have been rearranged to ensure effective social distancing, and we have reduced delegate numbers to a maximum of 8. Our new measures to make classrooms Covid-19 secure include:
- Limited number of delegates on each course.
- Deep cleaning of classrooms at the end of each course.
- Practical exercises will be carried out maintaining 2 metre distance with delegate traffic continually monitored.
- PPE will be offered to delegates if necessary.
- Courses will be split across classrooms for better social distancing and all test / practical equipment used will be sanitised before and after use.
- Toilets will be deep cleaned daily and all staff/delegates using toilets must observe meticulous standards of personal hygiene.
- Any table used for refreshments will be wiped down after every use and social distancing requirements are to be maintained in breakout areas.
- Paper cups and individual coffee/tea etc. provided and we will encourage delegates to bring with them their own lunch/snacks.
- Drinking water dispensers sanitised on a regular basis.
Private/Onsite Training
As of the 8th June we will offer our full range of Private/Onsite Training Courses to clients if they can demonstrate the training area will be Covid-19 secure. Our training co-ordinators will be asking clients to complete a risk assessment detailing what controls are in place to protect both delegates and our training staff.
Virtual/Remote Training
Our new virtual/remote training courses are available for our most popular UKATA Asbestos Training Courses. These courses are delivered by one of our qualified trainers and will recreate a typical classroom setting. The courses available include:
- Virtual UKATA approved Asbestos Awareness Training Courses (full course and refresher course)
- Virtual UKATA approved Non-Licensed Asbestos Removal Refresher Training Courses
- From July 2020 we will also be offering virtual UKATA Asbestos Removal Operative Refresher Training Courses.
Revised Training Programme
We have now published a revised training programme in order to fulfil postponed dates and to take into account the reduced classroom sizes. Existing clients who have already booked training courses will be contacted by our training department to make the relevant arrangements.
